It's difficult to read what part you're looking at. Also, as the paper the book is printed on is quite thin, you can see text bleed from the other side of the page. This also doesn't help when trying to look at some images.

If you're new to Office , then this book should have you well and truly covered. But if, like most people, you're updating Office from a previous version, there isn't any list of changes from previous versions so things may take a little longer to work out.

Finally there are 22 pages for the index, so you can find an answer to pretty much any question you have and there's a nice touch of a scratch off silver panel on the inside back cover that gives you access to online content.

This book has been very handy for me, recently i have upgraded my home version of office for work to and although a lot of the functionality is the same the layout is slightly different and this book has been very helpful in identifying the basic function i use day to day for my work.

The book is printed in full colour and this is very useful as it helps identifying the buttons and menus on screen easier, for excel it shows the formulas how they will appear on your screen again this is very handy. You should not be buying this book thinking that this will be a complete guide to all functionality within office.

It is very focused on the basic business uses of the software suite and how to update each process. If you are looking for a more in depth guide to advanced processes then you will need to look at the book based specifically for the program in office you are using.

This book also comes with a code to use their online training suite, this is a nice touch and the information on the website is very useful and if you have time can help you learn the new office version easier than just relying on the book. This book is no less impressive and even a humble GP, like myself is expected, these days, to be conversant with most Office products, though sadly the most useful one to me was not mentioned in this guide.

Anyone picking up this book for the first time will be more than rewarded and also more than satisfied. To be clear, there is a wealth of wonderful information which Ms Wempen has set down with alacrity, but she is let down by the page formatting. Other than this, for those of you who have not been dazzled, like me, this work will be more than sufficient and very worthy.
